Do Bad Things at Your Party

In a little under 6 hours, the Season 3 finale of True Blood will be here to tease and titillate Truebies everywhere. But, what are you going to do about it?

People aren't exactly rich these days, nor do many fans have much time, but here are some ways to throw a sexy, inexpensive and easy vampire party for the finale, a season 3 marathon, or DVD release party.

Seek the Craft Queen -- Martha Stewart constantly has ideas, templates and more on her website that can be accessed for free, but she also has materials available to buy at craft stores such as Michael's.

To make my invitations and jars, I purchased a vampire treat for around $6 and attached the stickers to vases I had around the house from the Dollar Tree. I also used ribbon, cardstock and Word to make the "Do Bad Things" invites. Instead of "where", I put "were". (As in werewolf.)

Be Thirfty -- I used a lot of free and cheap materials such as clearance ribbon in red, black and red cardstock and Goodwill items. For the spooky candle holders, I bought black wine glasses and placed red glass candleholders inside them.

For the Truebie picks, I downloaded the TrueBlood font from a free website, glued the printed letters to red and black cardstock and glued those to grill skewers.  Ialso went to the Dollar General for black and red tablecloths and window decals that look like bloody handprints ($1 each).

Think Red, Black and Bon Temps -- Use mags featuring the cast, bottles of TruBlood, Charlaine Harris books, black and red candles, DVDs, etc. as part of your decor. You already have it and your fellow Truebies can see your collection. Try printing out your favorite quotes from the season, too.

Put a Spin on What's Out There -- take these Martha Stewart items. Remove the finger from the box invite and the spiders from the vial. Merge these two invites to make invites filled with vials of "V" instead.

No matter your party style, time restraints or budget, these tips can help prove your Truebie--ness. Oh, and you're about to have a major fangover, so don't forget the Bloody Marys.
