It's a Nice Day for a White Setting

I read somewhere that white linens are in because it gives a room that clean, "hotel feel". Since the last owner of our home painted the kitchen, living room and dining area Green Bay Packers green and gold, I wanted a way to decorate for the party we're having tonight without overwhelming the room with a circus-full of colors.

While many may feel that white is better catered to fancy events, like weddings, I disagree. I love the décor at this Parisian-style wedding. It's clean, minimalistic, elegant and looks low-cost.

For the birthday party, I snagged a white tablecloth with gray-white stripes on clearance at Target for under $6. I also found mini Damask napkins and paper plates at Target in the birthday section. For the larger Damask paper plates I hit up Party City when they had 50% off partyware that was patterned. Finally, I used white serving dishes I already had and added a bunch of mini roses from Kroger ($10 - $13).
