I have always loved Gwen Stefani. Not only does she have a classic beauty, but I've always admired the fact that she's a mulit-talented trendsetter. I was beside myself several years back when she announced her clothing line L.A.M.B., like her album. However, I always felt that her stuff was a bit pricey.
Take some of the stuff I saw on Gilt this week, for example. A keychain wallet was still $29, and purses and shoes all seemed to be over $150. While I think that celebrities turned designers can be great, there's no way a lot of us can afford to spend that on an accessory we may wear for a week out of the month.
There are some solutions. While stores such as Forever 21 were sued by Stefani for stealing her designs, there are blogs out there that give the skinny on knock-offs. One of my favorites is one for called Shoeaholicsanaonymous. You can also search stores and street vendors in big cities and foreign countries for pseudo-designer styles, just be sure they aren't passing off phonies on you as the real deal (sometimes they put an "O" on Chanel stuff, for example) or that the merchandise isn't hot in more than one way.

You can also DIY. The font used for Gwen's stuff is called Fette Fraktur, and it can be downloaded online for free at a number of sites. You could use it as a stencil, iron on, etc. for shirts, sweats and canvas handbags.
