My cousin, Lexi, has a birthday coming up on the ninth. Along with her birthday present I'm sending (which I cannot reveal until she sees it), I also wanted to get her a card. Though the Grammys were last night, I initially had no intention of purchasing a card that had one of the big winners behind it.
However, at the front of the Kmart near the Rivergate mall was a greeting card stand with giant photos of Taylor Swift. Apparently, American Greetings has signed the Nashville singer on for the purpose of creating cards -- designs she's rumored to have come up with herself.
While some cards played T.S. songs when opened, I opted for this card for The Guy Formerly Known as Boyfriend and this card for my teenage cousin. However, this card was supercute and made me think of Rachael of The Lovely Lifestyle. In addition to the great cards, I also loved the envelopes and the reasonable price of $2.79 before tax.
According to a press release by American Greetings on November 17, Zev Weiss, Chief Executive Officer at American Greetings said, “Her abilities as a storyteller and songwriter make her a natural at writing cards for consumers of all ages. She has the unique ability to connect with her fans through life experiences and greeting cards do the same--cards help people express, connect and celebrate these events with the important people in their lives. We believe it’s a natural fit!”
In addition to the cards, the site indicates she will also work with designers on "gift packaging, stationery, online photo personalization products and online greetings".
I'm excited to see what else she comes up with!
