Happy Hunting (Antiques and Turkey/Sports shows)

The Music City Soul Series is meant to honor Black History month and will have performances on the 11th, 18th and 25th. Find out about it here. February 11-20 is Antique Week! I love antiques and try to stay away from the antique district next to me in Goodlettsville that has about 5-10 shops. However, this week only comes around this Thursday through next Saturday. According to www.visitmusiccity.com, here's the lineup:

The good thing is that if your husband/soon-to-be-hubby/boyfriend doesn't want to go, there's an overlap of another activity he can do Feb. 18-20. He can drop you off at the Heart of Country show at the Opryland Hotel and he can go to the convention center for the turkey and sports show that the visitor's bureau describes as:

The 34th annual show returns to Music City this February. Turkey hunting enthusiasts can browse exhibitor booths, bid at auctions, attend educational and hunting seminars and enjoy full immersion in the world of wild turkey hunting. 

Exhibit Hall
Exhibitors include Yamaha, Wild Turkey Distillery, Winchester Ammunition, Timber Ridge Products, The Rifle Cam, Promatic, Outdoor Channel, Buck Knives and hundreds more covering four acres of booth space.

Auctions
Auctions will be held Friday and Saturday offering hunting trips, furs, jewelry, oil paintings and more. All to support wildlife conservation.

Educational and Hunting Seminars
Seminars will cover topics like buying hunting land, mastering the wind instrument, calling, hunting and legal issues

Entertainment
Michael Waddell and Brenda Valentine serve as Convention Emcees and NWTF Spokespeople.
Comedian Paul Harris and the exceptionally talented and hilarious Cleverly Trio will perform throughout the weekend. This is a group you will not want to miss. The songs will get stuck in your head and make you laugh 'til you cry. Award-winning country group Little Big Town will perform Thursday night's Welcome Party.
Country and hip-hop artist Colt Ford entertains at the Wild Turkey Bourbon Party. General James T. Conway is the guest speaker at the Winchester Breakfast. Jeff Foxworthy will make you laugh at the Saturday Awards Banquet. David Hale and Vocal Union will be at the Remington Worship Service on Sunday.

Contests
Don't miss the Grand National Calling Contest Championship, call-making and taxidermy contests. See and hear things like you've never experienced before.

Getting In
Daily admission is $12 per day or if you pre-register by February 10, you can purchase a 3-day general admission for $25. Children 10 and under are free. The daily admission fee gets you access to the exhibit hall, calling contests, the roost, gun blasts and seminars. If you hope to attend any meetings, breakfasts, auctions or evening events, it's suggested that you pre-register online. Limited tickets are available at the convention.
