You might not be able to trust anything from a London tabloid, but according to gossip sources, there's a feud going on between Courtney Love and Robert Pattinson about whether or not he's a good fit to play her late beau Kurt Cobain.
It all seems pretty petty and as if both parties are getting into a bunch of drama over nothing and taking things too personally. However, if you're into the dish, there's a lot of dirt to dig through.
In April 2010, The Sun reported that:
"R-Patz has been in regular contact with Kurt's widow Courtney Love who has been handed a key role in the production by bosses at Universal Pictures. The HOLE singer wanted R-Patz as Kurt and Scarlett Johansson to portray her . . .She has agreed to the film on condition that she gets to decide the main aspects of the project including director, casting, screenplay and music."
Spin magazine followed up the story with several articles after talking to Courtney Love's manager, Jonathan Daniel. He said, "That's an amazing story, and the first I've heard of any of this. They manage to fit pretty much everyone in Hollywood into an article without one fact check. . ."
A July 13 follow-up in Spin indicates that the Twilight star might be pretty peeved after Love tweeted, "i might dissPEAR AND HEY I LIKE R PATZ HES JUST NOT RIGHT FOR KC!" on April 14. Spin also claims she sounded off to the Canadian Press: "Isn't that so stupid? Who would cast him? That's just wrong, no offense."
Supposedly he told The Mirror: "And you see all these comments, like from Courtney Love, saying 'What the fuck! He's totally wrong for it,'" Pattinson said. "And I'm like, 'I fucking said no, you dick!' I didn't get offered it. For one thing, I'm too tall, and I can't sing like him, I'm nothing like him! It's ridiculous."
According to MSN/Access Hollywood, Love said, “I watched the ‘Twilight’ stuff very, very recently and I get it, it resonates with the teenaged girl in me, I understand epic love of that nature; I write about it all the time,” she added. “But isn’t that silly?”
The Hole singer suggested Ryan Gosling or James McAvoy to take the role.
But Scarlett Johansson to play her? Get real!
