For those of you waiting on pins and needles to find out information about Breaking Dawn hitting the silver screen, part of your wait is over. While rumors on the web and in my Twilight circles thought the new director might be Gus Van Sant, Sofia Coppola or Guy Ritchie might taken the helm, it's Bill Condon that's been tapped for the fourth depiction of the saga. I wasn't sure who Condon was, but apparently he directed Dreamgirls. According to mlive.com, a Michigan news station, Condon won an "Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for 'Gods and Monsters' in 1999 and was nominated or his screenplay for the musical "Chicago" in 2003."
The only thing that remains a mystery is whether B.D. will be split into two films or whether it will be in 2D or 3D. Personally, I am hoping that they will do it in one, because the argument that the book is too long for one film sounds like a way to b.s. fans into buying tickets to more movies. I'm also hoping that two years is long enough for Stephenie Meyer to get over that person posting Midnight Sun (anyone else think of Journey's Faithfully lyrics when you hear that title?), write it and let it be filmed before the starts start aging too much. However, there's more Twilight news than just a new director. People is teasing fans with 17 of its Most Beautiful People online. While the site only lists Pattinson from the crew, I hear that Ashley Greene and Kristen Stewart are also making the cut. In fact, I hear that Ms. Bella Swan's alter ego might also be making the list of top hotties published by FHM.
In case you've forgotten how hot the cast is, you can view a brand-spanking new Eclipse trailer at the website http://eclipsethemovie.com/. It depicts a vampire army being created, a great cityscape of Seattle, a new Victoria, Bella's engagement ring and who I think is Alice pulling a Matrix-like flip over one of the wolf pack. Wait, did I just say Bella's ring?
Meyer's designed a ring based on the book's description. The good news is that fans can buy it as well in three different versions and either in silver or gold. (It's on an Eclipse sale for a limited time, so these prices already include the $20 off.) Bella's Fashion Engagement Ring is $35, Bella's Fine Engagement Ring is $479 and if you want the real deal, like Bella herself, the Bella's Genuine Engagement Ring is $1,979.
If you're into older older men (like 100+ years old and the daddy of other vamps), you can see Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) at Governor's Square Mall in Clarksville, Tennessee, tomorrow, May 1 from noon to 5 p.m. Autographs are $25 and photos with autograph are $40. Proceeds will be donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation according to Metromix Nashville.
