Vampire Empire: Dead in the Family

After devouring my Christmas present the same afternoon, the short story collection about Sookie Stackhouse called A Touch of Dead, I wondered when I could get my next fix and book 10 would be released.

Yesterday, I'd ordered my mom's birthday present with a Barnes & Noble gift card, but I needed to spend the whole $25 on it in order to get free shipping.  I noticed that Charlaine Harris had a new book out that I could reserve and if I pre-ordered, I got a discount.  It's called Dead in the Family.

According to Barnes & Noble, you Team Eric fans (including me) might get a little taste of the old-school relationship between Sookie and her vampiric, bad boy lover. The sites sums up the book as: "After enduring torture and the loss of loved ones during the brief but deadly Faery War, Sookie Stackhouse is hurt and she's angry. Just about the only bright spot in her life is the love she thinks she feels for vampire Eric Northman. But he's under scrutiny by the new Vampire King because of their relationship. And as the political implications of the Shifters coming out are beginning to be felt, Sookie's connection to the Shreveport pack draws her into the debate. Worst of all, though the door to Faery has been closed, there are still some Fae on the human side-and one of them is angry at Sookie. Very, very angry..."

If you can't wait until its released May 4, there's an excerpt online here of the first chapter!
