Beyond Here Lies Nothin' (but Five True Blood Predictions)

Whether you're a Were, a Shifter, Fangbanger or a Vamp, waiting for Season 3 of True Blood has . . .well, sucked.  However, the wait won't be much longer!

It's hard to know what to expect, even as a fan of Charlaine Harris's books, because Alan Ball is constantly putting his own, cliff-hanging spins on the series -- especially at the end of an episode or season. But I have a few predictions about where the folks in Bon Temps are heading and the "Fresh Blood" that will be introduced into the storyline.

Be forewarned! The rest of this blog contains spoilers to the books, which therefore might contain future show spoilers.

Prediction #1 : Who took Bill? The Maker's the Taker.
I'm putting my money on Lorena.  In book three of the series, Bill's acting strangely and is always in front of the computer.  He's working on a secret project, and the queen is involved.  He tells Sookie he's going to Seattle (a lie) and he goes to Mississippi -- partly to be with Lorena (who in this reality, Sookie never met) and everyone but Sookie (Pam, Eric and Chow) knew he was just going to leave her without saying anything, but he was going to set her up financially to make up for it.  Bill is kidnapped and it's up to Sookie to save his hide.  One deviation: In the book, they're not engaged, but vamp-human marriage isn't allowed anyway.  What I hope to see? Sookie might wind up locked in a small space, if she saves Bill, but she could find danger as her beau hasn't eaten in a week or two.

Prediction #2 : Sookie Gets Southern Belle From Hell on Their Asses.
In the series of books, Sookie doesn't kill Rene Lenier.  She just kicks his ass and he goes to jail.  If my guess that Alan Ball will blend book three (Club Dead) and book four (Dead to the World), then I will also predict that our lovely Miss Stackhouse will kill two people, both women and both heinous bitches that had it coming.  Can you guess who?  Hint: Neither is human, but are Supes.

Prediction #3 : The new Big Bads and new Beasties.
TGMAID (Thank God Maryann is dead). Big Bads you'll love to hate (and not in the "Oh Spike, You're the Big Bad" Buffybot kind of way) will be Lorena, Were biker gang members, and Debbie Pelt (a bitchy shifter and ex-girlfriend to Alcide). Stay tuned for people who can turn into panthers, owls, wolves, etc. But there will be something else out there, too. Something that tells you why Sookie is impervious to vamp glamouring. She's part f-- (you figure it out).

Prediction #4 : Mott he's Not (but he is), King's a Queen and a Hunk o' Burning Love
In the books Tara is more Asian than Black, but also seems a little cheerier (and not as bright).  My prediction is that Franklin Mott will be more diabolical than he's depicted in the book.  Guess that makes sense because a). Tara gets more play on True Blood than the novels and b). Alan Ball makes a good point. the books are all from Sookie's POV, so he shows what happens in between.  Other curious information? The King of Mississippi, Russell Eddington, is what Harris calls the gay vampire version of Hugh Hefner. And Elvis? Yeah, he's a vampire.  A bad one (as in poor, not evil).  Explains all the sightings, doesn't it?

Prediction #5 : Sookie Gets Staked  . . . and Raises the Stakes.
Though Bill being off with Lorena in the series will probably be blamed on her threatening Sookie's life so Bill can't be the "bad guy" for cheating, we're going to see some hot pursuits as Were, Alcide Herveaux, and the Sexy Swed Vamp, Eric Northman chase after Sookie romantically (or lustfully). I bet she kisses them both! Sookie's going to do what's morally right to save Bill, though she's not going to take his B.S. In fact, Sookie will probably be doing some staking (not to Bill, mind you) and she's going to get staked, too.  At least, that's what happens in Club Dead.

She'll also need Eric's blood again in order to heal. (He originally gave her blood to help heal her from the maenad attack in the book, but he's still a deviant guy who wants to land her.) The blood-giving is going be . . . (ahem) erotic.  If they blend book four in, we may also see Sookie play nurse to a half-naked Sheriff of Area 5! Be on the lookout for him running down the road as she drives home from Merlotte's.  P.S. The sweetness we saw after Godric's death will return, but poor Mr. Northman will lose his memory thanks to some witches.  And the nursing may turn into playing doctor.

Yowza!  That's a predicament to look forward to, isn't it, Team Eric fans?
